Innovative
Curriculum for Innovative Students
__
CHA students are innovators-- they see what
could be and make it happen. CHA panthers create the world they
want to live in.
Innovative people need engaging curriculum. Our college preparatory
program fully prepares students to attend competitive four-year
universities while allowing them to explore the subjects that they
are passionate about.
In the ninth and tenth grades students take breadth requirements
that explore the full range of the liberal arts and encourage students
to find their niche. In the eleventh and twelfth grades students
complete their graduation requirements and pursue a personal program
of study designed by the student, their advisor, and the school
counselor. A program of study is a set of courses and internships
that a student selects designed around a question that they would
like to investigate, a skill that they would like to develop, a
project they would like to complete, or an area of study they would
like to explore. Juniors and seniors are expected to spend half
of their day in self-selected study. Students may create a completely
self-designed program or they may choose to follow one of CHA’s
curricular paths from:
