| The Cortez Hill Academy Board
is made up of individuals willing to be responsible for the well being
of Cortez Hill Academy. It is a collaboration whose members share
goals, responsibilities, and leadership. Decision-making is normally
by consensus. The Board is accountable to the students, parents/guardians,
staff, community and San Diego Unified School District for the outcomes
of the school.
Some of the Board of Directors’ responsibilities include:
• Monitor the Leadership team’s accountability to SDUSD
• Develop community networks for fundraising, scholarship
and school support
• Provide leadership for parent involvement and volunteers
• Mediate disputes unresolved at the school level
• Lead Cortez Hill Academy and our Learning Community into
the 21st century.
Term
length for a Board member is 2 years. For the 2006-07 school year
there is an open position for a community member. We invite all interested
parents who would like to serve on the board in the future to apply
by writing a letter to the Board stating what you want to contribute
and what you would bring to the leadership and future of CHA.
