1,2 (One-year course Grades 10 or 11)
This introductory course, open to students who wish to learn Spanish,
is intended to develop limited facility in each of the four skills:
listening, speaking, reading and writing. Major emphasis is placed
upon development of the ability to speak fluently with accurate
pronunciation and intonation. Students will also develop cultural
awareness of Spanish-speaking countries.
Spanish 3,4
(One-year course Grades 11 or 12. Prerequisite: successful completion
of Spanish 1,2 with a ‘C’ or better.)
This course is designed for students who have successfully completed
Spanish 1,2. It is a continuation of the introductory course and
is intended to extend students’ limited facility in the
major skills. Reading receives increasing attention, although
continuing emphasis is placed on developing the ability to speak
with fluency and accuracy. Cultural appreciation also continues
to be emphasized.
